These clients had a nice fireplace in the finished basement but the problem was that the entire wall was brick with a brick hearth that went wall to wall and looked overbearing and dark. To solve this, we custom built bookcases on each side that covered the existing brick and provided more storage and a place to display items. This created a brighter warmer space.
